Day 11

Hello All

Well today started at 0600 in the morning and did not end until Wed morning at 0900. I left the little city about 2 hours north of the Montana/Canada border and arrived home in 27 straight hours and 1532 miles total for Tues/Wed. I am sure alot of you are asking why travel so many miles in one day,well I did it to see if I could do it and another was when I found out Dylan was missing me really bad I knew I needed to get home and spend alittle time with him before he goes off to Dream Street Camp for the week. Dream Street is an organization from LA that sends kids to camp that have special medical needs.I am sure he will have a better week at camp knowing I was home before he left. Dylan was funny because before I left for Alaska I asked him what does he want me to bring him home from Alaska,he told me he wanted a new full face helmet like the one I got before I left on the trip.Well Dylan got his new helmet that I sent from Alaska today. My last day on the road started out wet and got better by the mile. when I hit Montana it was raining and the cars and trucks coming out of Glacer National Park had snow on there hoods,so I stayed in the low lands.As I got further south near Butte Montana I looked down at my rear tire and found it was in need of replacement so I pulled into Idaho Falls and got some new rear rubber installed and I was back on the road within a couple of hours.Going through the desert at night was a smart move because I found out later it was 118 in Vegas yesterday so riding all night saved me from alittle hot weather. All in all it was a great trip and is something I will do again in the future. I would like to thank everyone that donated to the Make a Wish Foundation and your donations are sure to help a child have a wish of a lifetime.I would also like to say to my wife kathy,You are an Angel from Heaven because without your love and support I would never have been able to do this ride. Kathy you see is the rock of this family she was there for Bobby when Dylan got sick and was the one that stayed by his bedside 24/7 while my brother held down his job to provide for Dylan,so Kathy you are not only the rock of this family but you are my hero and I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART. To all my Family,Friends,Co-workers I would like to thank you all for the support you have shown and no words can describe how I feel, all I know is I am one lucky guy to have you all in my life. Ok you all must be wondering here it is, 7663 total miles for the trip,11days, for an average of 696.5 miles/day.

Day 10

Hello All

I had a great night in Fort St John,oooooooooooooooops Fort Nelson The Best part of the night was the dream I had.You see since my brothers passing I have not had him in any of my dreams until last night. We were out on a boat playing on the lake,skiing,swimming and fishing,all the things my brother and I loved to do together,I know I was thinking the same thing what about riding together?? well I hope that will come in time but just the fact that I had him in one of my dreams is a blessing because it was really bugging me that I had not seen him in any of them for over a year. I want to thank all the family and friends that have supported me in doing this ride,but lets not forget what the main purpose is for this ride and that is so kids can have there wishes granted. Those wishes do not happen without each and everyones support through there donations to The Make-A-Wish Foundation. Todays ride was very wet for the last 100 miles but all in all it was a great day. total miles today 710 and heading south. I should be in Montana tomorrow and getting alittle closer to home.once I hit the heat I know I will be close to home.

Day 9

Hello All

Day 9 took me from Johns place at Watson Lake to Fort St john for a total of 410 miles on Day 9.Heading home now.Had on and off again showers but it seems at the end of every day it is more showers,but I knew this when i started out on this trip . The weather in fairbanks yesterday was sunny but you could see showers to the north.Watson lake is very nice place,in fact anyone thinking of taking a trip to British Columbia ,DO IT!!!!! The forest is so green and full of life,not like anything I have ever seen. All in all it has been a great ride so far and I look forward to the praires tomorrow as I head to the border of Montana. To all have you that I get to work with,I look forward to getting home and seeing everyone and Lisa can you just please blow up my inbox PLEASE!!!! all Kidding aside I miss my family and friends and next time I do this type of ride one or two of my buddies that I ride with ( you know who you are) are going to go too.

Day 8

Hello all

Sorry again I have not been able to write due to connection problems.

Day 8 I found myself with a choice, fight more rain and 125 miles of gravel road to the Artic circle or leave the god forsaken place the people up north call fairbanks. I chose to head home and as I rode south the weather started getting good. what a change!!!! so I rode,rode,and rode right into another storm.I took shelter in an old abandoned shack,After about an hour this old guy named john came driving up and asked me what I was doing in his shack?? I told him I tried to contact someone at the motel down the road to get a room so I took shelter here.He said I was not home and that it is his motel,go to room two,get a shower and a good nights sleep and come into the store in the morning and settle up on the rent for the night.I could not get on my bike fast enough and head for room two. On my way I was thinking I do not have a key to the room so I followed John up to his house and he told me he has not locked the doors to the rooms for 30years.(He knew what I was going to ask him) so I went took a shower and got a great nights sleep (picture of the bike in front of room two). When i woke up I looked at the miles I rode sat and boy was I surprised when it said 1069 miles on Sat July 11,2009. I knew I had rode alot of miles but did not think it was that many. anyway I went to the store and settle up on the room, had a breakfast sandwich and was on the road again for day 9. Day 8 took me from Fairbanks to Watson Lake and I got a few good pictures as you can see.

Day 7

Hello All

I made it to fairbanks Alaska.Total miles today was only 510 miles with 26950 on the bikes speedo for a total of 3961 miles from home to Alaska.Average daily milage is 565 miles per day. The trip home should be about the same but we will see when I pull it in the driveway next sunday or monday.I am going to take a different way home so with some luck I will be home alittle earlier then planned.Wow this weather sure changes fast,as I sit here writing this the sun is shinning and it is in the high 70's. fairbanks broke a record high two days ago with a 91.The ride from Hains to Fairbanks was uneventful and no aniamls sightings.Did get a cool pick as I was going into alaska. The road was realy rough after I crossed into Alaska compared to Canada.

Day 6

Hello All

It has been a bear of a day. Made it from Fort Nelson BC to Hains Junction which is 714 miles.I should be in Fainbanks on friday. Today was more dry then wet. Rode through mostly mountains,seen Deer,Elk,Mountain Goat and a pair of wild horses.They got alittle mad at me for stoping because they had a colt, I guess I was alittle to close to them. Getting in full day rides seeing it does not get dark until 12am. I should be heading south on either sat or sunday depending on the weather.I am still going to make the trip out to the Artic Circle but if there is any chance of rain I will not try it.Getting there involves 115 miles of gravel road and I have herd conflicting stories so I will find out for myself. you all have a great night and will write more tomorrow
